| أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ {١} |
1. HAVE WE NOT opened up your breast |
| وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ {٢} |
2. And removed your burden |
| الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ {٣} |
3. Which had left you devoid of hope, |
| وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ {٤} |
4. And exalted your fame? |
| فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٥} |
5. Surely with hardship there is ease. |
| إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا {٦} |
6. With hardship indeed there is ease. |
| فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ {٧} |
7. So when you are free work diligently, |
| وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ {٨} |
8. And turn to your Lord with all your love. |
