 |
| وَالضُّحَىٰ {١} |
1. I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, |
| وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ {٢} |
2. And the night when dark and still, |
| مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ {٣} |
3. Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. |
| وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ {٤} |
4. What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; |
| وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ {٥} |
5. For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. |
| أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ {٦} |
6. Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? |
| وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَىٰ {٧} |
7. Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? |
| وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ {٨} |
8. Did He not find you poor and enrich you? |
| فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ {٩} |
9. So do not oppress the orphan, |
| وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ {١٠} |
10. And do not drive the beggar away, |
| وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ {١١} |
11. And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. |
