 |
| وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ {١} |
1. By the night when it covers the day, |
| وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ {٢} |
2. by the day when it appears radiant, |
| وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ {٣} |
3. and by that (Power) which created the male and female, |
| إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ {٤} |
4. you strive in various ways. |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ {٥} |
5. We shall facilitate the path to bliss |
| وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ {٦} |
6. for those who spend for the cause of God, |
| فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ {٧} |
7. observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ {٨} |
8. But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, |
| وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ {٩} |
9. and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). |
| فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ {١٠} |
10. We shall facilitate the path to affliction |
| وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ {١١} |
11. and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. |
| إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ {١٢} |
12. Surely, in Our hands is guidance, |
| وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ {١٣} |
13. and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. |
| فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ {١٤} |
14. I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire |
| لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى {١٥} |
15. in which no one will suffer forever |
| الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ {١٦} |
16. except the wicked ones who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. |
| وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى {١٧} |
17. The pious ones who spend for the cause of God |
| الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ {١٨} |
18. and purify themselves will be safe from this fire. |
| وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ {١٩} |
19. They do not expect any reward |
| إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ {٢٠} |
20. except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High |
| وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ {٢١} |
21. and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. |
