 |
| إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ {١} |
1. And when the stars become dispersed, |
| وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ {٢} |
2. And when the rivers are made to flow forth, |
| وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ {٣} |
3. And when the graves are laid open -- |
| وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ {٤} |
4. Every soul will know what it his sent before and what it has held back. |
| عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ {٥} |
5. O man, what beguiles thee from they Lord, the Gracious? |
| يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ {٦} |
6. Who created thee, then made thee complete, then made thee in a right good state -- |
| الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ {٧} |
7. Into whatever form He pleases He casts thee. |
| فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ {٨} |
8. Nay, but you give the lie to the Judgment, |
| كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ {٩} |
9. And surely there are keepers over you, |
| وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ {١٠} |
10. Honourable recorders, |
| كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ {١١} |
11. They know what you do. |
| يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ {١٢} |
12. Surely the righteous are in bliss, |
| إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ {١٣} |
13. And the wicked are truly in burning Fire -- |
| وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ {١٤} |
14. They will enter it on the day of Judgement, |
| يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ {١٥} |
15. And will not be absent from it. |
| وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ {١٦} |
16. And what will make thee realize what the day of Judgment is? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٧} |
17. Again, what will make thee realize what the day of Judgment is? |
| ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ {١٨} |
18. The day when no soul controls aught for another soul. And the command on that day is Allah’s. |
| يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ {١٩} |
19. Woe to the cheaters! |
