 |
| وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا {١} |
1. By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, |
| وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا {٢} |
2. by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, |
| وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا {٣} |
3. by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), |
| فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا {٤} |
4. by the angels who hasten along |
| فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا {٥} |
5. and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). |
| يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ {٦} |
6. On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts |
| تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ {٧} |
7. and will be followed by the second one, |
| قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ {٨} |
8. hearts will undergo terrible trembling, |
| أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ {٩} |
9. and eyes will be humbly cast down. |
| يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ {١٠} |
10. (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again |
| أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً {١١} |
11. after we have become bones and dust?" |
| قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ {١٢} |
12. They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". |
| فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ {١٣} |
13. However, it will only take a single blast |
| فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ {١٤} |
14. to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth´s surface. |
| هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ {١٥} |
15. (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses |
| إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى {١٦} |
16. when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, |
| اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ {١٧} |
17. saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. |
| فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ {١٨} |
18. And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? |
| وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ {١٩} |
19. I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". |
| فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ {٢٠} |
20. Moses showed him the great miracle |
| فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ {٢١} |
21. but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). |
| ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ {٢٢} |
22. Then he turned away in a hurry, |
| فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ {٢٣} |
23. and gathered his people together |
| فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ {٢٤} |
24. saying, "I am your supreme lord". |
| فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ {٢٥} |
25. So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. |
| إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ {٢٦} |
26. In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا {٢٧} |
27. (People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established |
| رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا {٢٨} |
28. high above? |
| وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا {٢٩} |
29. He has made its nights dark and its days bright. |
| وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا {٣٠} |
30. After this, He spread out the earth, |
| أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا {٣١} |
31. produced water and grass therefrom, |
| وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا {٣٢} |
32. then set-up firmly the mountains. |
| مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ {٣٣} |
33. All this was done as a means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. |
| فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ {٣٤} |
34. On the day when the great calamity comes, |
| يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ {٣٥} |
35. the human being will recall whatever he has done. |
| وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ {٣٦} |
36. Hell fire will become visible for those who would see it. |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ {٣٧} |
37. Those who have rebelled |
| وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا {٣٨} |
38. and preferred the worldly life, |
| فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ {٣٩} |
39. hell will be their dwelling. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ {٤٠} |
40. However, those who had feared their Lord and restrained their souls from acting according to its desires. |
| فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ {٤١} |
41. Paradise will be the dwelling. |
| يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا {٤٢} |
42. (Muhammad), they ask you, "When will the Hour of Doom come?" |
| فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا {٤٣} |
43. (Muhammad), you do not know (when and how) it will come. |
| إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا {٤٤} |
44. This matter is in the hands of your Lord. |
| إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا {٤٥} |
45. You are only a warner for those who fear such a day. |
| كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا {٤٦} |
46. On the day when they see it, it will seem to them as though they had only lived in the world for a morning and an afternoon. |
