 |
| وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا {١} |
1. By the winds sent forth with beneficence. |
| فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا {٢} |
2. And those raging swiftly; |
| وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا {٣} |
3. By the spreading winds spreading. |
| فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا {٤} |
4. And the scattering wind scattering. |
| فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا {٥} |
5. And those winds that bring down the remembrance. |
| عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا {٦} |
6. By way of excuse or warning. |
| إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ {٧} |
7. Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. |
| فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ {٨} |
8. So when stars are effaced. |
| وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ {٩} |
9. And when the heaven is cloven asunder. |
| وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ {١٠} |
10. And when the mountains are carried away by wind. |
| وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ {١١} |
11. And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, |
| لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ {١٢} |
12. For what day is it timed? |
| لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ {١٣} |
13. For the Day of Decision. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ {١٤} |
14. And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٥} |
15. Woe on that day Unto the beliers |
| أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٦} |
16. Destroyed We not the ancients? |
| ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ {١٧} |
17. Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. |
| كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ {١٨} |
18. In this wise We do with the culprits. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {١٩} |
19. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| أَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ {٢٠} |
20. Created We you not of water despicable, |
| فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ {٢١} |
21. Which We placed in a depository safe. |
| إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍ {٢٢} |
22. Till a limit known? |
| فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ {٢٣} |
23. So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٢٤} |
24. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا {٢٥} |
25. Have We not made the earth a receptacle. |
| أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا {٢٦} |
26. Both for the living and the dead, |
| وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَاءً فُرَاتًا {٢٧} |
27. And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٢٨} |
28. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ {٢٩} |
29. ´Depart Unto that which ye were wont to belie. |
| انْطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ {٣٠} |
30. Depart Unto the shadow three branched: |
| لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ {٣١} |
31. Neither shading nor availing against the flame. |
| إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ {٣٢} |
32. Verily it shall cast forth sparks like Unto a castle. |
| كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ {٣٣} |
33. As though they were camels yellow tawny. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٣٤} |
34. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَ {٣٥} |
35. This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. |
| وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ {٣٦} |
36. Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٣٧} |
37. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ {٣٨} |
38. This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. |
| فَإِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ {٣٩} |
39. If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٠} |
40. Woe on the day Unto the beliers! |
| إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ {٤١} |
41. Verily the God-fearing shall be amid shades and springs, |
| وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ {٤٢} |
42. And fruits such as they shall desire. |
| كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ {٤٣} |
43. ´Eat and drink with relish that which ye have been working. |
| إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ {٤٤} |
44. Verily We! in this wise We recompense the well-doers. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٥} |
45. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ {٤٦} |
46. ´Eat and enjoy a little; verily ye are culprits. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٧} |
47. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ {٤٨} |
48. And when it is said Unto them: ´bow down, they bow not down. |
| وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ {٤٩} |
49. Woe on that day Unto the beliers! |
| فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ {٥٠} |
50. In what discourse, then, after it, will they believe? |
