1. I swear by the Day of Resurrection. |
2. And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. |
3. Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? |
4. Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. |
5. In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! |
6. He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” |
7. So when the eyes will be blinded by light. |
8. And the moon will be eclipsed. |
9. And the sun and the moon will be united. |
10. On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” |
11. Never! There is no refuge! |
12. On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. |
13. On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. |
14. In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! |
15. And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. |
16. O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. |
17. Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. |
18. So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. |
19. Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. |
20. None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. |
21. And you have forsaken the Hereafter. |
22. On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. |
23. Looking toward their Lord. |
24. And on that day some faces will be ghastly. |
25. Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. |
26. Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. |
27. And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” |
28. And he will realise that this is the parting. |
29. And one shin will curl up with the other shin. |
30. On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. |
31. Neither did he believe it to be true, nor did he offer the prayer. |
32. But he denied and turned away. |
33. Then he went back to his home in pride. |
34. Your ruin has come close, still closer. |
35. Again your ruin has come close, still closer. |
36. Does man assume that he will be let loose? |
37. Was he not just a drop of the semen that is discharged? |
38. He then became a clot – so Allah created him, then made him proper. |
39. So created from him a pair, the male and female. |
40. So will He, Who has done all this, not be able to revive the dead? |
 |
