 |
| إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ {١} |
1. When the inevitable event comes, |
| لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ {٢} |
2. no soul will deny its coming. |
| خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ {٣} |
3. It will abase some and exalt others. |
| إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا {٤} |
4. When the earth is violently shaken |
| وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا {٥} |
5. and the mountains crumbled, |
| فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا {٦} |
6. they will become like dust scattered around. |
| وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً {٧} |
7. On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: |
| فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ {٨} |
8. The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ {٩} |
9. The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! |
| وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ {١٠} |
10. The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. |
| أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ {١١} |
11. (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God |
| فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ {١٢} |
12. in the beautiful Paradise. |
| ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ {١٣} |
13. Many of them will be from the ancient people |
| وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ {١٤} |
14. and only a few of them from the later generations. |
| عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ {١٥} |
15. They will recline on jewelled couches |
| مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ {١٦} |
16. facing one another. |
| يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ {١٧} |
17. Immortal youths will serve them |
| بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ {١٨} |
18. with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine |
| لَا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنْزِفُونَ {١٩} |
19. which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. |
| وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ {٢٠} |
20. Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice |
| وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ {٢١} |
21. and the flesh of birds, as they desire. |
| وَحُورٌ عِينٌ {٢٢} |
22. They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, |
| كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ {٢٣} |
23. like pearls preserved in their shells, |
| جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ {٢٤} |
24. as reward for their deeds. |
| لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا {٢٥} |
25. They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk |
| إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا {٢٦} |
26. except each other´s greetings of, "Peace be with you". |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ {٢٧} |
27. As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! |
| فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ {٢٨} |
28. They will live amid the thornless lot trees |
| وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ {٢٩} |
29. and banana trees, |
| وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ {٣٠} |
30. with fruits piled up one on the other, |
| وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ {٣١} |
31. and amid the extended shade |
| وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ {٣٢} |
32. near to flowing water |
| لَا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ {٣٣} |
33. and abundant fruits, |
| وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ {٣٤} |
34. undiminished and never denied |
| إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً {٣٥} |
35. and the noble maidens |
| فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا {٣٦} |
36. that We have created (for the people of the right hand). |
| عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا {٣٧} |
37. We have made them virgins, |
| لِأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٣٨} |
38. loving and of equal age. |
| ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ {٣٩} |
39. These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient |
| وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ {٤٠} |
40. and many from the later generations. |
| وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ {٤١} |
41. As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! |
| فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ {٤٢} |
42. They will live amid the scorching, |
| وَظِلٍّ مِنْ يَحْمُومٍ {٤٣} |
43. scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, |
| لَا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ {٤٤} |
44. neither cold nor graceful in shape. |
| إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ {٤٥} |
45. They had lived in luxury before this |
| وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ {٤٦} |
46. and persisted in heinous sins. |
| وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ {٤٧} |
47. It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? |
| أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ {٤٨} |
48. Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? |
| قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ {٤٩} |
49. (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations |
| لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ {٥٠} |
50. will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. |
| ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ {٥١} |
51. Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth |
| لَآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ {٥٢} |
52. will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, |
| فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ {٥٣} |
53. filling your bellies, with it |
| فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ {٥٤} |
54. and on top of this you will drink boiling water |
| فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ {٥٥} |
55. like a thirsty camel". |
| هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ {٥٦} |
56. Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. |
| نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ {٥٧} |
57. It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ {٥٨} |
58. Have you seen sperm? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ {٥٩} |
59. Did you create it or was it We who created it? |
| نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ {٦٠} |
60. We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us |
| عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ {٦١} |
61. in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. |
| وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ {٦٢} |
62. You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ {٦٣} |
63. Have you seen what you sow? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ {٦٤} |
64. Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? |
| لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ {٦٥} |
65. Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament, |
| إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ {٦٦} |
66. crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. |
| بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ {٦٧} |
67. Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ {٦٨} |
68. Have you seen the water which you drink? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ {٦٩} |
69. Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? |
| لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ {٧٠} |
70. Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? |
| أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ {٧١} |
71. Have you seen the fire which you kindle? |
| أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ {٧٢} |
72. Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? |
| نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ {٧٣} |
73. It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. |
| فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ {٧٤} |
74. (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. |
| فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ {٧٥} |
75. I do not need to swear by the setting of the stars |
| وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ {٧٦} |
76. - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - |
| إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ {٧٧} |
77. that this is an honorable Quran |
| فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ {٧٨} |
78. preserved in a hidden Book which |
| لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ {٧٩} |
79. no one can touch it except the purified ones. |
| تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ {٨٠} |
80. (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. |
| أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ {٨١} |
81. Would you say that this statement is a lie? |
| وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ {٨٢} |
82. Would you reject the sustenance that you receive rather than give thanks? |
| فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ {٨٣} |
83. Why can you not help a soul dying |
| وَأَنْتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنْظُرُونَ {٨٤} |
84. right before your very eyes? |
| وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ {٨٥} |
85. We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. |
| فَلَوْلَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ {٨٦} |
86. If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, |
| تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ {٨٧} |
87. why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? |
| فَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ {٨٨} |
88. (If a dying soul) is of those near to God, |
| فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ {٨٩} |
89. it will have rest, happiness, and a beautiful Paradise. |
| وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٩٠} |
90. If it is of the people of the right hand, |
| فَسَلَامٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ {٩١} |
91. it will be with the people of the right hand, living in peace and security. |
| وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ {٩٢} |
92. If it is of those who have rejected the Truth and have gone astray, |
| فَنُزُلٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ {٩٣} |
93. its dwelling will be boiling water |
| وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ {٩٤} |
94. and the heat of hell fire. |
| إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ {٩٥} |
95. This is the absolute Truth and certainty. |
| فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ {٩٦} |
96. So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. |
