 |
| وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ {١} |
1. Woe unto every slandering traducer, |
| الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ {٢} |
2. Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. |
| يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ {٣} |
3. He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. |
| كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ {٤} |
4. Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ {٥} |
5. Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! |
| نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ {٦} |
6. (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, |
| الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ {٧} |
7. Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). |
| إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ {٨} |
8. Lo! it is closed in on them |
| فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ {٩} |
9. In outstretched columns. |
