| أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ {١} |
1. THE AVARICE OF plenitude keeps you occupied |
| حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ {٢} |
2. Till you reach the grave. |
| كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٣} |
3. But you will come to know soon; -- |
| ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ {٤} |
4. Indeed you will come to know soon. |
| كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ {٥} |
5. And yet if you knew with positive knowledge |
| لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ {٦} |
6. You have indeed to behold Hell; |
| ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ {٧} |
7. Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. |
| ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ {٨} |
8. Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. |
