| الْقَارِعَةُ {١} |
1. The sudden, mighty strike! |
| مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٢} |
2. What is the sudden, mighty strike? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٣} |
3. What enables you to perceive what the sudden, mighty strike is? |
| يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ {٤} |
4. The day (when it occurs) humans will be like moths scattered about; |
| وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ {٥} |
5. And the mountains will be like carded wool. |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٦} |
6. And then, the one whose scales are heavy (with faith and good deeds), |
| فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ {٧} |
7. He will be in a life of contentment. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٨} |
8. Whereas the one whose scales are light (as devoid of faith and accepted good deeds), |
| فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. He will have his home in a bottomless pit, |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ {١٠} |
10. What enables you to perceive what it is? |
| نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ {١١} |
11. It is a fire burning fiercely. |
