| الْقَارِعَةُ {١} |
1. The event that terrifies the hearts! |
| مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٢} |
2. What is the event that terrifies the hearts? |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ {٣} |
3. And what have you understood, what the event that terrifies the hearts is! |
| يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ {٤} |
4. The day when men will be like scattered moths. |
| وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ {٥} |
5. And mountains will be like flying wool. |
| فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٦} |
6. So for one whose scales prove heavy, |
| فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ {٧} |
7. He is therefore in the desired bliss. |
| وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ {٨} |
8. And for one whose scales prove light, |
| فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ {٩} |
9. He is in the lap of one that abases. |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ {١٠} |
10. And what have you understood, what the one that abases is! |
| نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ {١١} |
11. A flaming fire! |
