 |
| وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا {١} |
1. By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) |
| فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا {٢} |
2. Striking stones with their hooves, sparking fire. |
| فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا {٣} |
3. And by oath of those who raid at dawn. |
| فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا {٤} |
4. So thereupon raising dust. |
| فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا {٥} |
5. Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. |
| إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ {٦} |
6. Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. |
| وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ {٧} |
7. And indeed he himself is a witness to it. |
| وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ {٨} |
8. And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. |
| أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ {٩} |
9. So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, |
| وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ {١٠} |
10. And all what lies in the breasts is opened - |
| إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ {١١} |
11. On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! |
