 |
| وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا {١} |
1. I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others, |
| فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا {٢} |
2. Then those striking sparks of fire, |
| فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا {٣} |
3. Then those charging in the morning |
| فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا {٤} |
4. Raising clouds of dust, |
| فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا {٥} |
5. Penetrating deep into the armies, |
| إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ {٦} |
6. That man is ungrateful to his Lord |
| وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ {٧} |
7. And is himself witness to it, |
| وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ {٨} |
8. And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. |
| أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ {٩} |
9. Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare |
| وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ {١٠} |
10. And the secrets of the hearts exposed, |
| إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ {١١} |
11. Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). |
